Club Scrap Woven Strands Blog hop

Hi, Donna here today, and welcome to Club Scrap blog hop. I would like to share with you a layout I did using the Club Scrap Woven Strands kit. I LOVE the deep purples and lime greens and the silver accents this kit has to offer.

Here is a closeup of the flower cluster, it is so simple to intertwine ribbon and a bead strand through a flower stem, to give it an elegant look.

Included in the kit are these fabulous wood corners. By simply dabbing some ink onto the wood you can coordinate with any layout. I also added a rhinestone form the kit just to give it a little flair.

Several years ago I was doing a Disney layout and trying to make a Mickey head shape out of hemp. It kept coming apart and after several unsuccessful attempts I came up with this idea on how to keep the circles perfect by taking a 50/50 mixture of water and tacky glue wetting the hemp in the mixture and wrap it around a paint bottle and let it dry. It worked perfectly and for this circle I took the fiber from the kit and used my Curvy Cutter on a craft mat in order to keep the shape (well sort of, but the irregular shape was intentional). When it was almost dry it kept its shape and I was able to attach it to the layout without any loss of shape and did not need to add any more adhesive.
