Welcome to the Club Scrap Crewel &; Unusual Kit Blog Hop. This is your last stop and you should have come here from the very talented Lisa Dolezal's blog. Today I would like to share with you some sunshine with sunflowers! The sunshine being my granddaughters of course! But first let me show you this awesome kit!
And here is the layout I made. I cut the circle with the flourish and the title from the Silhouette, along with the sunflowers. I have instructions below on how I made the sunflowers. I wanted to use the Club Scrap Weathered Florals Unmounted Stamp to make a light pattern on some paper. So I used some light brown ink and stamped some flowers on the paper (bottom strip below large sunflower).
Closeup of flowers and vines.
After cutting the shapes for the sunflowers (2 for each flower), I spritzed them with water and crumbled them into a small ball, then SLOWLY unfold them, your paper will be weak at this point, but will be strong again when it dries.
While it was still wet, I rolled the petals using the end of a paintbrush, and let dry. You might need to spray a little water if they dry before you get done rolling.
Then I took stamped some ink on my craft mat and sprayed some water, taking a brush I added some lines down the middle.
Next my recent fascination with alcohol inks comes into play. I wanted to use microbeads but only had pink, but I found these green bead. The ones on the right are the color they are, but I felt that was too light. So I took some drops of lettuce Adirondack Ink and mixed the beads around until they were covered. One the left you can see they did get darker. Then I put them on the glossy accents.
The finished flowers!! I made a lot more than I ended up using. I did go back and more glossy centers on top of the beads.
More of my obsession with inking, I used the Club Scrap the floral bead embellishment from an older kit and added some Latte Andironack to them. The leaves were from Bazzill and again I used the Lettuce color ink to darken them and as above, I sprayed them with water and crumbled them up to distress them a little. OK again with the ink, the twine was white and drop some ink on them, and instantly absorbed up and changed to the color I wanted!
Now head back to Club Scrap and to get more ideas!
