So Grateful

Hi everyone, Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for stopping by today. I made this layout because I am so grateful for my family, and this beauty is my granddaughter. The Quick Quotes Family Bundle pack had this quote in it that says " There is nothing on this earth that touches my heart more than your beautiful smile! Your eyes sparkle and your whole face lights up and it makes the whole world smile." That describes her perfectly! To make this layout I used the new line from Quick Quotes called Back to Basics. The pumpkin and the leaf from an old Quick Quotes Club Q kit. The leaf cluster were from a pack of leaves I picked up at the Flower Warehouse, and I strung a few wood buttons to make a kind of banner under the pumpkin.

 

The wood buttons I made three different ways, though the barely see the difference, up close they do show up differently. On all of them I used Quick Quotes Powderpuff Ink and Gold rub. My favorite is next to the letter L in the title, where I dabbed the gold rub in the center and brushed the ink around the edges but leaving some of the wood show.

Birthday wishes

Good morning all,

Christmas is just around the corner, and I finally finished scrapping the summer! I started my Disney layouts which I always love doing. Here are two layouts using Momenta papers and embellishments. Thank you Momenta for giving me a year on the D-Lite team. It has been awesome! I also did some embossing on the pink paper using clear embossing powder, love that effect and will have to use that in a future project.

 

Gone too Soon

I got these flowers at Michaels don't know exactly what they were but they were strung together by a ribbon, so I cut them up to use on this layout.

My granddaughters got these scooters and they just loved riding around in them. I used Momenta products on this and I LOVE this new paper pack I just got. It is the Kalidescope Pyramid Paper Pack and it is just awesome. The colors are so bright and colorful, but better yet the paper quality is superior.

I altered the metal by applying a coat of pink paint then sanding it down. When I did that the metal parts became shiny, which in this case worked. But if you don't want it shiny just use a cloth to wipe off the excess paint. It's good to know if you want them shiny to use a nail file. Of course the picture doesn't really show that, but trust me!

Life through your eyes

My son, whom has made my life worthwhile as has all my children, has Aspergers and this layout is for him.

I often wonder how you see the world. What I understand
about you is everything is black and white, there is no
middle. Sometimes that is good is like in school you
always follow the rules, and get upset when other kids
don't. You are in your own little world, naïve, and immature,
but that is exactly why I love you, because you are so
different. All those qualities people might find fault but for
me that is why I love you. In this world, where peer pressure
can be awful, you do not succumb, you are your own person,
you are gentle, you always finish what you start, and
you are constantly changing your interests in life. I love
you more than anything in this world, my son.

Make a wish

What a crazy March I had. Between planning our Disney vacation (yes we are going Again!)and finally starting to get our house back in order very slowly, after all the construction and remodeling. Of course if you know me, I just can't "re-do" one room, it leads to another and another and then another idea comes to my head, and so on! So what started as painting and adding a closet, ended up with finding fabulous hardward floors in the dining room, 2 closets added, a partial new roof, new carpte and new furniture, tearing down a fake fireplace and some other minor fixes. Hopefully I will get my scrapbook room back in order and get down to some serious scrapbooking. Also my sister got me into geneology, so we've been scouring the web and this weekend we are going grave hunting! Sounds creepy but we really need to document some of this stuff for our kids, or so we think so. Can you believe we traced some of our relatives back to the 1500's!

In the meantime I hope you enjoy this layout. My granddaughter just loves sprinkles, so her other birthday party I let her put tons of sprinkles on her cake. She was thrilled with the whole idea. I used Momenta products along with some machine sewing.

This layout I made using the fabulous Momenta Endless Summer Paper Pad. I cute out the "waves" and layered them across the bottom randomly. The title and all the embellishments were in my stash, and the anchor I made using my Cricut.

Momenta Party paper!

This paper pack by Momenta can be used not only for birthdays but just about any kind of layout. I used the sketch from Birds of a Feather Sketch challenge to make this layout. Everyone loves banners lately it seems, so I used the banners from the kit, some layered stickers and made some of my own. Those puffy titles are so cute too!

2-26-12 Tag/Technique/Question

Hello scrappers, today I made this fun tag .

I decided to try and use a sharpie to highlight the puffy stickers, which of course they are cute on their on, but I wanted to really bring them out against the rather blah background. The technique I wanted to try was to use dictionary or newspaper, so I cut it into squares and glued them on in a random way. My question is "What am I taking for granted?"

Let me tell you something I learned. I was watching a inking video and the girl was saying how the Ranger Blending Solution gets rid of or makes the ink lighter. So for some reason this stuck in my head. When I was using the sharpie, I slipped and had a big line across the puffy sticker. So I thought why not use the blending solution. It worked! Took it off like magic. Then the swirly puffy sticker at the bottom is more fabric like, and of course I messed that up too. It took a little more work but the blending solution works for that too, Just be sure it is completely dry before using the sharpie again.

Momenta Great Outdoors Kit - My mini album

Here my first project as part of Momenta's D-Lite team using the Great Outdoors Kit. It is just the best kit for any kind of camping or fishing layouts you want to make. The sign "charms" were made from a piece of paper from the kit that had outdoorsy signs on. I cut them out and applied them to chipboard, and coated it with Modpodge. LOOOVEEE IT!

I made those cute signs from the paper included in the kit.

The pocket on the bottom was a sticker I backed with some a piece of scrap paper and glued the bottom and side. Tabs were made using the puffy stickers included with kit, cute huh?

Also can use tags to make a pocket, like I did below.

Go crazy! Add extras everywhere, even in between pages like I did here (the North East is just a tab I glued in.

In case your wondering here is how I made the mini album. I had this accordian file in my stash, I painted the edges of what will be in the inside of the album, no need to do the outside, since it will be covered with pp. Also here is a great secret, inside of just using pp to make a tab to bind the mini album, I use mailing envelopes on anything that will get used a lot. You know the kind of envelopes, the ones that can never rip or tear. I think Avery's brand name is Tyvek. This makes a great tab. Since I have a 4X4 album I cut a piece 4x2 1/2 of the envelope and 2 pieces of pp the same size.

To make the pockets I glued the bottom and inner side panel and used clothespin to hold them together.
